Words Are Energy

I’ve ruminated about how much our self talk influences us. We tend to think of words as small things. Passing things. Temporary things. Things that disappear as quickly as they’re spoken.

But if you’ve lived long enough, you know that isn’t true. Some words stick. They echo in your mind years after they are uttered. They shape how you see yourself. They influence how you respond to others.

Words either build something within you or quietly tear something down. Words are like bullets. You can’t put them back in the chamber once they leave the barrel.

Words are not nothing. They carry weight. They carry direction.

Words carry life or the absence of it.

Until my next post

  4. True, Eileen, we can do a lot of harm with our tongues. On the other hand, we also have the ability to use it to speak words of life, love, kindness, and encouragement to our inner selves and to others. Thanks for reading and sharing your insights.
