The Essentials (Week 5) | One Way

There is truth that makes people uncomfortable.

We live in a world of options. People have long believed in multiple paths and different truths.

Jesus steps into the middle of all of it and declares:

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Not a way.

The way.

There’s a part of us that wants to make it sound more inclusive. More culturally acceptable. However, biblical truth is not ours to reshape.

Perhaps this it’s less about exclusion and more about clarity.

After all, Jesus is God. So what other way would there be but through Him?

Still, sometimes I sit with the weight of it because it informs how I see others.

The invitation doesn’t require us to have all the answers.

We simply need to make up our minds about what we believe about Jesus.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Who do you say He is?

Be salty, stay lit.

  2. Somebody knows their hymns! That’s beautiful, Barb. That particular line carries so much truth in it. The peace we’re searching for isn’t something we manufacture. It flows from the Cross, and from being fully seen and
fully loved by Jesus. His banner over me is love. That’s a showstopper. Not tolerance, not obligation. Love. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and share your insights. Abundant blessings 🙏
