Wednesday Wisdom | God Is Trustworthy

Scripture: 1 Kings 18:41–46

After the dramatic victory on Mount Carmel, Elijah told Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of the rushing of rain.”

There was just one problem.

The sky was still clear.

Again and again, Elijah sent his servant to look toward the sea. Six times the answer was the same: “There is nothing.”

On the seventh trip, a tiny cloud, no bigger than a man’s hand, appeared.

God had already spoken. The cloud was simply the first visible evidence that His promise was on its way.

Trusting God often means believing His Word before seeing the results. The Lord’s timing is perfect. His promises are certain and His character never changes.

When all you can see is a cloud the size of your hand, or perhaps nothing at all, remember that God is trustworthy.

Prayer

Father, strengthen my faith while I wait. Help me trust Your promises even when I cannot yet see their fulfillment. Thank You that Your faithfulness never depends on what my eyes can see. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
