OCC National Collection Week Day Four

It’s day four of Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week and our North Dallas Relay Center hosted on the campus of Trinity Bible Church of Richardson has received over 2200 shoebox gifts so far. It’s been an incredible week. We’ve had lots of help from faithful volunteers who have lugged and loaded cartons upon cartons of shoeboxes. It’s been a blessing to see familar faces drop off their shoebox gifts again, as they have done everso faithfully, year in year out. The joy on each of their faces is heartwarming, on both sides of the box, giving and receiving.

One donor graciouslly asked her friends to help her pack 50 shoebox gifts in celebration of her 50th birthday. A local wrestling coach got his wrestlers together to pack over a hundred shoebox gifts. Young and old alike have made it their mission this year to pack a box full of daily essentials, toys, books, and many other things to share their love with a kid all away across the globe. They hope to meet a physical need as well as share the way to fill a spiritual need—the need for a relationship with Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Whatever we are dealing with here on Earth is merely temporary. We can persevere and endure whatever trials we face through our belief and reliance on a power greater than ourselves—God, the Father, who created all. For nothing is impossible with God and through relying on the strength of His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We, who believe, live with the knowledge of the promise that one day we will stand in His presence, free from pain, free from worry, free from fear, free from trouble, and free from tears. Somewhere, somebody desperately needs to hear the Good News…that whatever their situation may be…they can live a life filled with an abundance of Love and Hope and Faith.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
