It’s Monday. Another traditional work week has begun. You have a whole week to look forward to. But instead of feeling joy, you’re overcome with anxiety. If you’re feeling anxious, here are 3 verses to lean on.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Biblical scholars generally agree that David wrote Psalm 55 grappling with Absalom’s rebellion, a period of great distress for Israel’s King. Experiencing a time of unnerving difficulty, David turned to the Lord in prayer, pleading for God to help him endure the tribulation turning his life upside down. In Verse 22, David scribbles a sign of encouragement, reminding himself, and us, that God is for us, not against us.
Isaiah 41:13
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, Fear not, I am the one who helps you.
Isaiah served as a prophet. He lived in Jerusalem and is believed to be of noble descent. He had a wife and at least two sons. Scripture refers to Isaiah’s wife as a prophetess, so it is believed that two ministered together, prophesying in the land of Judah. Isaiah appears to have access to Judah’s rulers allowing him to minister to them.

Distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune.
Matthew 6:25
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? “
We can count on the same God who gave us life to provide for our needs and sustain us through thick and thin. When we are anxious, we are distracted from fulfilling the calling on our life that the Lord has revealed to us. While it may be difficult at times, our role is to trust and obey. Hallelujah! We serve and worship a God who is faithful, able, and powerful.
