Have You Packed Your OCC Shoebox Yet?

The 2016 National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is right around the corner. Have you started packing your love-filled shoebox gift yet?

This year’s collection starts Monday, November 14 and runs through Monday, November 21, 2016. We are thrilled to be partnering with our home church, Trinity Bible Church of Richardson, for the sixth consecutive year. Since packing our very first shoebox in 2008, Terri and I, working alongside hundreds of faithful church volunteers, have had the privilege of serving with OCC in various roles for 8 years, primarily focusing on collecting and cartonizing tens of thousands of donated shoebox gifts prayerfully packed by thousands of people.

Our 2016 Collection Center hours will be:

10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday, November 14-Friday, November 18

1 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20

10 a.m. -5:30 p.m. Monday, November 21

Our Collection Center will be in the 300 wing, located on the East side of Trinity Bible Church, located at 400 W. Campbell Rd, Richardson, TX 75080. The main office number is 972-234-2390.

In 2015, Operation Christmas Child collected over 11 million shoeboxes that were distributed to children living in over 100 different countries.

A project of the international relief organization, Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child provides local partners all over the Earth with shoeboxes filled with little toys, basic hygiene items, and school supplies as a way of reaching out to children in their home communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These love-filled, prayer-wrapped, simple gifts travel to children living in places impacted by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine and disease and to children living on Native American reservations in the United States.

Since 1993, OCC has distributed over 100 million shoebox gifts to the far corners of the globe in hopes of sharing the love of Jesus Christ with children and their families. This year, we pray that you will prayerfully consider participating in this incredible ministry with us as we seek to reach the world with the Gospel.
