The blue-white glow emanating from my laptop screen revealed the empty white computer page staring back at me. “How many words have you written today?”
Head hung low, I cradled my face with my palms, hoping to hide my discouragement from the world unseen.
None?
Yes. None. Are you deaf? Did you not hear me the first time?
What’s keeping you from writing today? Nothing to say? No words of encouragement to offer the lost and fallen world?
Be still and know that He is God. He will be exalted among the nations and He will be exalted in the Earth.
What?
I’m praying Scripture.
Does that help?
Sometimes.
“None. No one. Nada. Nothing. Not today Geronimo.”
What?
Sorry. Just trying to help. That’s my job. To think. Or did you forget?
Forget? How could I possibly forget? You remind me ALL the time.
Never do today what you can put off for a rainy day.
I don’t think that’s exactly how that saying goes.
No?
No.
How many words have you written today?
None.
I rest my case.
Well done. And no more none.
