Operation Christmas Child 2017 is approaching!
It may be hard to believe but National Collection Week is almost upon us! Terri and I have spent the last several weeks gearing up for what promises to be an incredible 8 days of ministry. Terri and I have been blessed to volunteer with OCC since packing our first shoebox gift in 2008. We’ve seen God faithfully grow this ministry locally, nationally, and globally. During her trip to Tanzania, Terri experienced the impact of these gifts firsthand as she and her OCC teammates distributed boxes through numerous villages.
This year is the 7th year our home church, Trinity Bible Church of Richardson, is serving as a Drop Off location for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Since becoming an official Drop Off location in 2011 for the largest Christmas project in the world, our church has processed over 27,400 love-filled, gift-filled shoeboxes.
2017 will be the 3rd year that TBC will serve as a Collection Center (now called Central Drop Off). This means that in addition to receiving the shoebox gifts faithfully packed by our church members and local community members year in and year out, Trinity Bible Church now is the central receiving point for a number of other OCC Drop Off locations.
How to Pack a Shoebox
Every love-filled shoebox gift has the potential to make an eternal difference in the life of a child living in midst of poverty and despair by introducing them to the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ
