Life is messy. The world we live in is witness to the endless bucket of challenges waiting for us outside the comfort of our walls. We build walls to hold things inside or to keep unwanted intruders out. In either case, we falsely presume that the walls themselves will keep trouble at bay. Watch the news regularly and you’re sure to be discouraged and dismayed. Staying inside and bolting the door seem like a good response. But, no matter how hard you try to hide, the world creeps in and with it trouble is sure to follow. I have good news. The same God that loved you and cared for you on Friday is alive and well and governing from His throne on Monday.
Therefore, don’t be disheartened. Pray for the lost, the last, the least, and the lonely. Know that with God, no trouble can defeat you, no darkness can overcome you. Believe. Trust. See. Don’t lose sight of the work God has done and continues to do all around you. Remember the miracle moments in your life. You’ve got them. God has moved mountains and parted seas for you. Let not despair taint the good things the Lord has done for you. Train wrecks turn our heads from the miracle moments God has showered us with in our life. Do not fear. Stay strong. I believe in you.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
