I don’t know about you, but God has reminded me throughout this past week that I have much to be grateful for. Here in DFW, a young man, suspected of being under the influence, ran into another car, killing two people. But for the grace of God, there go I.
In doing my chaplain rounds, ministering to people in the workplace, God has provided me with numerous opportunities to build trust, love people, and help people grapple with their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. I am grateful that our Lord is the Great Healer, who gives us comfort and provides us refuge during times of trouble.
A once broken vessel nearly shattered and left for dead in the junkyard of life, I have been restored. In Christ, I am a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). God lifted me up from the ashes, helping me rise up, to do the work He has called me to do–a work He has equipped me for through the course of my life. I am thankful that our Lord is a God of second chances.
Praise God, praise God, praise God.
The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-25
