Amid the COVID-19 crisis sweeping all around the globe, this is a weekend of great celebration and anticipation. It is a weekend anchored in the eternal hope that Jesus Christ continues to bring into this world even today, some 2,000 years after His death, burial, and resurrection. There’s a lot to this Good News. One of my previous posts explains in more detail why Easter matters.
As is true with the Good News of Jesus, there appears to be a light visible at the end of the tunnel for us as we endure through the COVID-19 pandemic. People are still testing positive for COVID-19 every day and people are dying due to the coronavirus daily. But in those areas hardest hit, like New York and California, they seem to be reaching a plateau. This is a strong indicator that our united efforts to distance socially combined with staying at home are working. The curve looks to be flattening in some places.
No doubt, there’s still a long way to go. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
I would encourage you, as we celebrate Easter at home this year, remain steadfast in your efforts to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. Good news awaits us around the bend.
My Easter Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for making all things new through Your son and by Your spirit. We are grateful for the victory we have in Jesus. Because Jesus rose from the grave, He paved the way for us to have eternal life with You, O God. Each of us confess our need for You, O Lord, each and every day. Renew our hearts, minds, and souls. Transform us from head to toe. Refresh us, O Mighty God. Let us keep Your word planted firmly and deeply within our hearts and at the forefront of our mind. Help us defeat the attacks of the Enemy who reminds us of our sin. We are grateful that because of Christ, You call us by our name. Give us this day, what we need. Steer us clear from temptation. Deliver us from evil. Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Praying that you and those you love remain healthy and safe. Together we will get through this thing that’s disrupted our lives.

To experience life the way God intended, you and I must receive God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. This gift from God is available to all who ask. Will you personally receive the gift of eternal life so that you can experience the total forgiveness from your sins that come through believing in the atoning death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
