In a recent post, I mentioned that I have been nominated for two blogging awards. I think being recognized for your work by your peers is a great compliment and fuel for continuing to create fresh content. In this post, we will explore the first of two recent nominations for blogging awards that I received.
I am honored to be nominated for the Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award. First things first: I want to give a big shout out to Tangie T. Woods who blogs at Mrs. T’s Corner. Blogging is truly about community and Tangie T. Woods demonstrates that sense of community in engaging with her fellow bloggers. Thank you, Tangie T. Woods for nominating The Devotional Guy™ for this award. I am grateful that you read my blog and sees my posts as offering inspiration to others.
Tangie T. Woods is a wife, mother, grandmother, and blogger-in-chief at Mrs. T’s Corner. As I mentioned, she’s an active reader of other blogs and someone who faithfully engages with other bloggers on their sites in addition to maintaining her own blog. She is always ready to offer a word of encouragement. A couple of my favorite recent posts she wrote are Satan’s Prey Ground and What Makes Me Happy?
RULES:
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to his/her blog.
- Answer their questions.
- Nominate up to 10 other bloggers and ask them 5 new questions.
- Notify the nominees through their blog by visiting and commenting on their blogs.
- List the rules and display the “Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award” logo.
Five Questions Mrs. T asked me about blogging:
- When did you start blogging?
I launched my first blog back in 2008. It was called Joshua’s Hope.
- What do you like most about blogging?
Aside from the opportunity for creative self-expression, I really like the sense of community that comes from engaging with fellow bloggers.
- Who inspires you?
I’ve been blessed to have several inspirational role models in my life. But my wife, Terrific T, inspires me through her faithfulness to God and her work ethic. She’s the most honest person I ever met and she has a big heart for animals and those less fortunate. Her passion and commitment to Operation Christmas Child are truly inspiring to me as her husband.
- Where are you most comfortable when blogging?
I have a couple of favorite spots in the house where I like to sit down and blog.
- Why is blogging important to you?
The freedom to create and express myself is important to me. Blogging is a medium that allows me the opportunity to share my voice, be heard, and engage with others. It is a platform that promotes free speech and thrives on celebrating a diversity of voices and differing viewpoints.
The Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award is a non-official award created by the members of Team Ideal Inspiration and is given to bloggers as an acknowledgment of the inspiring work they publish on their blogs. The award is a reflection of the positive impact people can have on one another’s lives.
To be nominated for something like the Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award amid a sea of excellent bloggers who inspire others every day is truly humbling and an honor.
Here are 9 bloggers that I believe inspire others through the post on their blogs:
- Jim at Fit Recovery
- Lily Pierce at Retrospective Lily
- Beth Alisan at Lessons from a Lab
- Wendi at Simply Chronically Ill
- James Edward Skye at The Bipolar Writer
- Robert at Blogging Psalms
- Elizabeth Jacobson at Head Desk Liz
- Jonathan Caswell at By the Mighty Mumford
- Caralyn at Beauty Beyond Bones
Each of these bloggers is inspiring in their own way and through sharing their own stories. They are genuine, authentic, transparent, and vulnerable.
Here are my questions for my fellow bloggers and nominees should they choose to accept being nominated for the Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award.
- When did you launch your current blog?
- What motivated you to start blogging?
- How often do you publish a new post?
- How much time do you spend on average creating a blog post?
- What is it about blogging that you find rewarding?
Thank you to each of you who take time to read my blog regularly and a special nod of gratitude for those of you who engage with me through liking, commenting, and sharing my posts. Your support and encouragement mean a great deal to me.
Blessings,

I believe that to experience life the way God intended, you and I must receive God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ, God has made this gift available to all who ask.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13
Will you personally receive the gift of eternal life so that you can experience the total forgiveness from your sins that come through believing in the atoning death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
Thank you, my friend. I’m honored.

Thank you so very much for nominating me, I am honored to be listed with such awesome people. It was fun reading your responses and I hope you don’t mind but I am going to respond to your questions here:
When did you launch your current blog? Simplychronicallyill was launched January 2018
What motivated you to start blogging? My husband was the driving force behind the blog. He actually put the blog together for me and told me to start writing……he encouraged me to share my story with others who may benefit. I am so very grateful for his strong encouragment.
How often do you publish a new post? My goal is to publish 2 times/week.
How much time do you spend on average creating a blog post? Great question, sometimes several hours and many drafts.
What is it about blogging that you find rewarding? Hands down, the amazing people I have been able to interact with that I would not have otherwise met. 🙂
Thank you again for including me! God bless you….
