In yesterday’s post, we discussed the importance of believers being part of a local church. This year has challenged people on lots of fronts, including the local church. Caught up in a virtual no-win, local church leaders are faced with meeting in-person (something we took for granted until recently) or being good citizens by following recommended guidelines in the interest of public health. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place! I certainly don’t envy any church leaders wrestling with this tremendous decision. It’s no light burden to carry.

Prayer for the Local Church
Father God, thank You for the blessing of our local church. May the church continue to be the salt and light of the local communities where they are planted. Lord, we pray for our church leaders and pastors, who no doubt are struggling during this difficult season. It is a year that has stretched all of us, including those who are charged with shepherding others. Let us not quit meeting together, whether that be in-person or in the many other ways we can gather in modern times. We thank You Lord for the gift of technology. Allow us to use it for Your glory. Help us, Lord, continue to share the Gospel—the GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST—with ALL people, near and far. Let us continue to bear witness to YOUR GREAT NAME. Thank You, Lord, for providing the resources necessary to keep doing the good works You have prepared for us to do individually and collectively as the FAMILY of GOD. Be with those who are unable to meet together. Comfort them and direct their steps. Help us be a people—a church—that prays. Help us be a church—a people—who loves. May we stay steadfast and persevere through this tumultous season. May whatever we think, say, or do glorify You, O God.

May you and those dear to you be blessed. Thank you for reading this post and following my blog. Feel free to leave a comment in the “COMMENTS” section to let me know you were here.
