Last Monday, we looked at how kindness elicits gratitude. In turn, gratitude fosters joy. Joy thrives in a heart of gratitude. Joy cannot flourish in a sour vessel. Scripture teaches us that joy is a fruit of the Spirit. Joy means experiencing great pleasure and bountiful happiness.
In his book, Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life, author C.S. Lewis viewed happiness and pleasure as feelings that were in our control, but joy was something out of our power. Joy, Lewis contended, could only come as a gift from God. Ultimately, the Lord is our source of joy.

#2. What brings me joy is helping and encouraging others—in general, and most specifically in the the Lord.
#3. One joyful memory happened when I was about 15 years old. I was sitting with an open Bible telling my two friends about something God had shown me in His Word, when I noticed they seemed enthralled. I recognized that it was the Holy Spirit speaking to them and that I was being used as His instrument as I talked about the scriptures. THAT was the defining moment that clarified my call to the gospel ministry.
Thank you again for your encouragement to me as a blogger and a Christian. Blessings.🙏
