Yes, it’s been a minute. For real, for real. I am determined to churn out a post. I confess, my blogging consistency for February fell short. Heck, the bottom dropped out. January started great, but along came February (cue crickets chirping).
February is an odd month. Reviewing my past year’s statistics, there’s always something unique about February. Although it’s only 2-3 days shorter than any other month, it feels WAY shorter and thus WAY busier. And the stats for February resemble broken resolutions and stopped reading plans. In other words, blah.
Truth is, so far life in 2022 has revolved around cold and inclement weather. You and I take for granted that we can simply go inside turn on the heat cuddle under a blanket and binge on our favorite streaming show (side note: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is back on Amazon with a 4th season).

Where do you go when it gets below freezing and you live unsheltered and on the street?
For us, it means we open our doors for them. Our organization serves as an emergency shelter during cold, inclement weather like we are experiencing today and the likely through Saturday. It means we are open 24/7 and host about 200-250 throughout that time. We will send people to other locations operated by the city. These locations are bigger and better equipped to house mass numbers. Our search and rescue teams will go find people determined to ride out the storm and who are hiding in all kinds of unusual places. For us, it’s about keeping people alive.
What have I learned? February is a good month to line up guest bloggers! We will see how that works out in February 2023.
This is post #931. Yes, I am rapidly(?) approaching my 1,000th post on this blog.
For now…happy Wednesday everyone! Keep the faith and stay warm.
Blessings,
The Devotional Guy™

I think about you, and your ministry to the homeless, Rainer, whenever there’s inclement weather. It’s currently sleeting here and the temperature feels like -2. 🥶 Not cold for Alaska or Northern Minnesota, but very cold for here. Congrats on closing in on your 1000th post. That’s pretty impressive. 🙏 for you and your ministry, during this cold snap, and always.
PS. I’ll sign up to write a guest post for your blog whenever you need one. God’s best to you and Sweet T.
