Heal my hurts, O God [A New Psalm]

My friend, perhaps you are hurting today. Being a believer doesn’t give us immunity against pain or sorrow. Trust me. I know this first-hand. If you’re hurting today, this contemporary psalm is for you. It is a new song. A new declaration of our victory in Jesus. You and I don’t have to carry our burdens alone. God is there to help us. We can leave our cares at the foot of His throne. Yes, you are worth it because He is worthy.

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life [John 3:16]. This is a promise you can claim today, dear reader. It is a promise meant just as much for you as it is for me. Receive God’s free gift of salvation today. Let Him write your rescue story.

I pray that this new psalm ministers to you in a mighty way. All praise, honor, and glory be to God, our Father and Creator.

Heal my hurts, O God.

Ease my pain, my Lord.

Wash away my burdens.

Soothe my grief.

Give me hope, O Lord. Give me hope.

Give me life. Give me life, O God.

Sometimes the weight of this world is too much to bear. Help me, Lord. Rescue me from myself, O Lord, my God. Help me recognize what is mine to shoulder and what is not.

I am not the great problem-solver of the world and all of its iniquities.

No, that’s not my job. That’s not my role, God. Remind me, Lord, when I forget.

My strength rests in Jesus.

He lifted me up from the grave. He gave me life eternal.

He is my great burden carrier.

Jesus is my comfort. My counselor. My confidant.

He is my Rock. My Fortress. My Solution.

By grace through faith, I can do the works You set before me.

Not in my own power or ability, but in Yours, Lord.

Heal my hurts, O God. Ease my pain. Comfort me in times of trouble. Strengthen me during times of peril. Heal my hurts, God of all that is seen and unseen.

Hallelujah. Praise Your Great Name, my Healer of Hurts; my Lord, my God.

Whatever you are going through today, in this moment, I pray that you will find comfort in the arms of God. He gives us peace beyond understanding. He is the very author of comfort in times of trouble. He loves us, more than we could ever imagine. Lean into Him today. Let Jesus carry you.
