The Essentials (Week 6) | One True God

One God.

There’s a simplicity to this that I find grounding.

Not many gods or competing gods or gods shifting depending on what I need or how I feel.

Just ONE TRUE GOD.

In a world that is fractured, it’s a truth that matters to me because it means there is a center. A source. A beginning and an end that are held together by something greater than all of that is seen and unseen.

“I am the first and I am the last…” (Revelation 1:17-18, 22:13)

There’s something steady in that doesn’t move when everything else does.

Yet, if we’re honest, we know that we still create other “gods,” even if we don’t call them that.

Control.
Success.
Approval.

Things we look to for meaning, for identity and for security.

But they aren’t sustainable or everlasting.

Trusting in ONE TRUE GOD feels like returning to something true. It’s not something I have to manufacture but someone who has always been there.

Be salty, stay lit.
