Family, welcome to this week’s Bible Study Sunday, as we continue our walk through the Gospel of Matthew.
Jesus went on from there and walked beside the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain and sat down there. And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them, so that the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
Matthew 15:29-31 ESV

There is something beautiful about this scene.
The people came to Jesus carrying their brokenness. They brought those who could not walk, could not see, could not speak, and could not function as they once did. Matthew writes they simply “put them at his feet.”
What an incredible picture of faith.
They did not arrive with solutions. They did not come with carefully crafted arguments. They brought their needs and laid them before the One who could do something about it.
Matthew records that Jesus healed them.
Notice the progression. The mute spoke. The crippled became healthy. The lame walked. The blind saw. What had been impossible became possible because Jesus was present.
The crowd’s response is equally important. They did not merely celebrate the miracles. They glorified God. Worship broke out. Praise erupted.
True encounters with Christ always move us beyond amazement and into worship.
Many of us come to God wanting Him to fix one thing while keeping the rest of our lives at a distance. But these people brought everything they had to Jesus. Their burdens, limitations, suffering, and hopes were all placed at His feet.
The same invitation remains today.
Bring your grief to Him. Bring your fears and your unanswered questions to Him. Bring the places in your life that feel crippled, blind, mute, or broken.
Jesus is still in the business of restoring what sin, suffering, and sorrow have damaged. Sometimes He changes our circumstances. Othertimes He changes us in the midst of them. Either way, His presence is where healing begins.
Reflection Questions
- What area of your life needs to be placed at Jesus’ feet today?
- Are you seeking Christ’s gifts more than His presence?
- How has God brought healing or restoration into your life that should lead you to worship?

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I bring my broken places to You today. Help me trust You with what I cannot fix on my own. Open my eyes to Your work in my life and teach me to respond with gratitude and worship. May everything You do in me bring glory to God. In the holy and great name of Jesus. Amen.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.
