Saturday in the Word | God Is Faithful in the Storm

Friends, welcome back to my blog as we pick our journey through our Simple Bible Reading Plan back up.

The Bible is God’s intentional revelation of Himself. To know God, we need to know His Word.

We left off on Acts 26 so today we will restart our study in Acts 27.

So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told.

Acts 27:25 ESV

Paul wasn’t caught in a storm because he had disobeyed God. He was in the storm because he had obeyed Him.

That’s an important reminder for us. Faithfulness doesn’t guarantee calm seas. Sometimes obedience leads us straight into the wind and waves.

As the storm raged, the sailors lost hope. Paul didn’t. He trusted God’s promise even when he couldn’t see the stars.

Notice what Paul didn’t say: “I told you so.” Instead, he offered hope. God had promised that although the ship would be lost, every life would be spared.

Sometimes God doesn’t save the ship. He saves the people.

We may lose plans, comfort, or certainty, but we never lose God’s presence. The storm may reshape our journey, but it cannot cancel His promises.

When the ship finally broke apart, every person reached shore safely—just as God had said.

If you’re weathering a storm today, take courage. Don’t put your confidence in calm circumstances. Put it in the God who is faithful through every storm.

Prayer

Father, when the storms of life rise around me, help me trust Your promises more than my fears. Give me the courage to encourage others, confident that You are always faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Until my next post

Be salty, stay lit.

  2. Thank you for reading doesn’t seem big enough, David. I truly appreciate your comment and insight on this post. God never leaves us or forsakes us, even if we wake up and find ourselves far from the life we imagined or the plan we were working. I pray you and Nancy have a wonderful weekend as well. Blessings 🙏

  3. “We may lose plans, comfort, or certainty, but we never lose God’s presence.” ❤️ If I had a heart emoji three time bigger, I’d use it here, brother!
I’ve lost all three of these before, often in quick succession, but the reassuring presence of the Lord remained. I hope you and Terri have a great weekend!
