One of the things I’ve come to appreciate about following Jesus is that God has a funny way of making sense of things that didn’t make sense at the time. Jobs. Failures. Detours. Disappointments. Things I thought might be wasted years.
God uses all of it.
Paul reminded the Romans that God works “in all things” for the good of those who love Him.
Not some things.
All things.
That doesn’t mean everything that happens to us is good. It means God is not limited by what happens to us. He can take experience and turn it into wisdom. He turns pain into compassion and transforms failure into humility. Detours turn out to be preparation in one season for another.
Sometimes we look backward and wonder, “Why did I have to go through all that?”
Friend, nothing surrendered to God is wasted.
Don’t despise your past. God may still be using parts of the past that you haven’t recognized yet.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.
