Saturday in the Word | Because He Lives

We continue our Simple Bible Reading Plan this week with 1 Corinthians 15.

And wow. This is one of those chapters where you might want to slow down and read it twice.

Paul is talking about the resurrection and he doesn’t mince words.

Jesus died. Jesus was buried. Jesus rose again.

And Paul says that if Christ wasn’t raised from the dead, then our faith is basically built on quicksand.

But here’s the good news:

Jesus WAS raised.

That changes everything.

I love how Paul eventually gets to this:

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

There’s that little word again:

Therefore.

Because Jesus lives, therefore

Keep going. Continue serving. Keep loving people.Continue doing the next right thing. Keep showing up. Because what we’re doing for Jesus isn’t pointless.

Sometimes we wonder if our little acts of faithfulness make any difference.

That encouraging word. That prayer. That shoebox packed with love. That conversation with someone who needs hope. That decision to forgive.

That moment when we choose faith instead of fear.

Paul says our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

I need that reminder. Maybe you do too.

The world can make it feel like everything is temporary and nothing really matters. But the resurrection tells us otherwise.

Jesus lives.

And because He lives, our lives matter.

So let’s be steadfast today. Not perfect. Not impressive. Just faithful.

Because the tomb is empty.

And that changes everything.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
