I’ve noticed I struggle when my routines get disrupted. Maybe I should show myself more grace, but that’s apparently not something I’m good at.
I haven’t been walking. My sleep patterns aren’t what they were just a few weeks ago. The things that keep me grounded suddenly are hard to manage.
Why am I not doing the things I know are good for me?
Fortunately, God isn’t standing there with a clipboard checking to see if I completed my spiritual routine.
He’s simply inviting me to come closer.
Sometimes that looks like an hour-long walk and a good conversation with Jesus.
Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly and saying, “Lord, I’m struggling today. I need You.”
I’m learning that a disrupted routine doesn’t mean a disrupted relationship with God.
Jesus is still here.
If you’re struggling right now and your routines have fallen apart, please show yourself some grace.
Start again when you can.
And until then, remember:
You don’t have to have your routine together to have God with you.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.
