Did You Go to Church Sunday?

Something about going to church on Sunday (or Saturday) starts the week off on the right foot.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Here are a few good benefits we get from going to church:

  • Worship together. There’s something special about gathering with other believers to praise God.
  • Grow in our faith. Sit under biblical teaching and learn how to apply God’s Word to our everyday life.
  • Find community. Christianity was never meant to be lived in isolation. We need other people in our life.
  • Encourage someone. Our presence, smile, or kind word might be exactly what someone needs.
  • Serve others. The church isn’t just a place to receive. It’s a place to use our gifts to bless others.
  • Keep Jesus at the center. Life gets busy, and our priorities can drift. Gathering with other believers helps us refocus on what matters most.

No, attending church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car. Our salvation is found in Jesus, not in our attendance record.

But if we love Jesus, we should want to grow in His Word, worship Him with other believers, and encourage one another in the faith.

Church isn’t just somewhere to go. It’s a community we’re called to be part of.

Did you go to church Sunday?

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
