Today is Our Anniversary

Our story began online in February 2000, shortly after Y2K. Anyone remember Y2K? Having escaped the end of the world as we knew it, new life began. We started with online conversations. Those led to talking on the phone for hours. Eventually, we mustered up the courage to meet in person.

For years, when family and friends would ask us how we met, we claimed we met at the post office. Back then, internet dating was still a fresh concept, and honestly, kinda weird. Saying we met at the local post office seemed an easier explanation, even though we lived in different cities. People wondered, but nobody did the math.

Who knew that a connection made through the internet would lead to a lifetime of memories, adventures, challenges, and love?

We said “I do” in 2008, and here we are, 18 years later, still writing our story together.

Marriage isn’t always easy, although, ours has been a blessing. Life brings unexpected twists and turns, seasons of joy and seasons that grow your faith. But it’s a Godsend to have someone to do life with.

There’s something special about the fact that Jesus performed His first recorded miracle at a wedding in Cana (John 2:1–11). A wedding is more than a celebration of two people falling in love. It’s the beginning of a journey, one that needs grace, faith, patience, laughter, and plenty of love along the way.

I’m grateful for Terri, for the life we’ve shared, and for the ways God continues to shape our journey.

And by God’s grace, our story continues.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
