As Christians, we are blessed to worship ONE God who has revealed Himself through Scripture, walked with us in the person of Jesus, and continues to nurture us through the Holy Spirit.
I am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
Isaiah 45:5a (ESV)
We can praise God because He is God and God alone. Apart from Him, there are no other gods. We don’t need to worry about trying to appease a plethora of gods. We can focus our everythingness on our one true God. We should praise God because of all that He has done for us. Our joy should overflow, realizing that the He loves us so deeply and delights in our songs of praise.
Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
Psalm 33:1 (ESV)
As worshipers of the One True God, we should joyously shout our praise from the rooftops. God is good. He is for us. Through His son, Jesus Christ, He redeemed us. Through His Holy Spirit, He prays for us, interceding on our behalf in our weakness.
Prayer: God, I lift your name in praise. You alone are God. Help me show the joy You have filled me with through your kindness and goodness to me. Amen.
