Evening Prayer 16 | Accounting for My Day

The end of the day provides us the opportunity to spend time with the Lord. We review the events of the day, what went wrong and what went right, prayers we promised we’d make on others behalf, and how our walk matched our talk. We can thank God for His goodness and watch-care for us. We can ask Him for forgiveness where we fell short. We can ask Him to hear about the needs of others as well as ourselves.

I sleep better when I pray before my head hits the pillow. I don’t toss and turn as much. I wake up better rested and at peace, ready to face a new day.

How about you? How does prayer impact your life?

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for the divine encounters you put in my path today. I pray for those who shared their burdens and cares with me. I give them over to you and lift up those who need you. Forgive me where I fell short today. Help me do better next time. Give me a good night’s rest so I can face the day ready to honor and glorify You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
