I hope you have had a joyous Sunday. The weather here has been beautiful all day. Church this morning was a precious time. I enjoyed seeing people I had not seen face to face in a number of weeks. Last week was a busy week, but Mom’s recovery continues to go well. She has made a ton of forward progress the past couple of weeks which allowed me to return home to Richardson. I’m grateful for the time Mom and I got spend together, although it wasn’t under ideal conditions. Surgery is never easy and recovery is always harder than anticipated. However, we had some super enjoyable times together, taking advantage of the opportunity to spend time together. I’ll be making some trips back and forth, between here and there, the next couple of months, to help ensure recovery continues to go well.
This week promises to be busy as I catch up on my chaplain worksite visits and Terri and I prepare for Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week. Terri leads one of the busiest Central Drop-offs in the Texas-Louisana area. Last year, donors brought over 15,000 shoebox gifts to our location, hosted by our home church, Trinity Bible of Richardson.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.Romans 12:12 (ESV)
Father God, thank You for the blessing of life. I am grateful for my family, friends, and neighbors. I am especially thankful for my wife, Sweet T, and the time we have had together. I look forward to many more years with my beautiful wife. I thank You, Lord, for entrusting us with the message of the Gospel. May we both continue to be faithful in advancing the Gospel wherever we find ourselves.
Lord, I thank You for the precious gift of healing that I have witnessed firsthand in my Mom as she continues to recover from hip surgery. Be with her as she makes positive forward strides each day. Encourage her through Your presence in her daily life. Lord, I thank You for the healing You have provided for friends, Alan, Brad, Laurie, and Dave. I thank You for Your healing hand and hedge of protection You maintain around my fellow chaplains, especially Henry and Lowell.
Father, may we focus on You as election night nears. Heal the divisiveness permeating the fabric of this great country. I pray for peace, regardless of the results. I pray for unity. Whoever wins, may we see an advancement of the Gospel, so that Jesus would be more known, all for the praise of Your glory. Whatever Your will might be, may it be done here on Earth as it is in Heaven. We give You all the praise, honor, and glory. In Jesus’ name, by the power of the Spirit. Amen.
This faith blog continues to grow. The month of October saw new all-time highs in views, visitors, likes, and comments. I am thankful for each of you who read faithfully week in week out. Your comments mean a lot, as I cherish the interaction and the opportunity to engage in conversations about faith, writing, recovery, and a variety of other things.
How can I be praying for you?
May the Lord shower You with His grace and mercy. May our God continue to bless you in many ways and for many days. Thank you for reading this post and for joining me in prayer.

I believe that in order to experience life the way God intended, you and I must receive God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ, God has made this gift available to all who ask.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Will you personally receive the gift of eternal life so that you can experience the total forgiveness from your sins that come through believing in the atoning death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.”
