Sunday Morning Prayer | In the Presence of God

Throughout the Gospels we see Jesus making time to be with the Father. He gets up early, he stays up late. Whatever it takes, Jesus finds time.

We also see Jesus carve out time to be with the Disciples. He’s never too busy.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes, if not often, I struggle to simply BE. I get so busy DOING for God that I fail to take the opportunity to BE with God.

This is something I have been working on intentionally and I continue learning more about as I focus my heart, mind, and soul on simply being in the presence of the Lord.

I can sit out on our patio in the early hours of the morning or the late hours of the evening and spend time with God. It’s a time where I am quiet. I try to listen way more than I speak, allowing the Spirit to wash over me and attuning my mind to Christ. It’s a time when I still my mind, gearing down the activity racing through it. I think more intentionally and thoughtfully as I breathe deep.

I simply BE.

That is my prayer for you, my friend. Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us carve out time to enjoy and delight in BEING in the presence of God. Allow us to quit the hurried, frantic pursuit of DOING, and make time to BE in God’s presence, enjoying the Lord’s company.

I pray all is well with you and yours.

Humbly,

The Devotional Guy™
