Sunday Prayer | Road Trip Prayer

In all likelihood you’ve sat in a prayer service or stood in a prayer circle as part of a body of believers beseeching and interceding for others. Prayer is a beautiful practice that the Lord, our God, has gifted to us. We know, if we’ve prayed for any length of time, that the Creator of the Universe hears our prayers.

Oftentimes, when I’ve joined those circles of praying men and women, I’ve heard someone ask for traveling mercies. In other words, God’s watchful hedge of protection over someone as they go on a journey from here to there.

I think praying for safe travels is a good idea and I as I thought about it more I wanted to offer a Road Trip Prayer.

Road Trip Prayer

God, our Father, who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name. Provide us with Your hedge of protection as we journey from here to there. Give us safety from the toils and snares of the road, keeping harm at bay as we travel the highways and byways of this Great Land. Give us patience and a humble spirit as we drive and engage other drivers. Remind us that in all things, we glorify You. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear. Let Your Holy Spirit fill the inside of our vehicles, so that joy and peace abound. Let us love one another well as we travel. God, we are grateful for the means and the opportunity to go on this road trip. May it be a wonderful time of blessing. In Jesus’ name, by the power of Your Spirit, Amen. Amen.

I hope this prayer encourages you. I pray your Sunday overflows with abundant joy. Love well. Be kind. Stay generous. Remain steadfast.

Humbly,

The Devotional Guy™

  3. Amen! While my next travels will wait a few months, your prayer is a blessing to read. If I can’t travel right now, I can pray for those who will be on the road. The Lord’s grace and peace continues to lead your faithful posts. Thank you Ranier.
