Recently, in her “Abide” series, fellow Jesus-follower and Christian blogger Bridget A Thomas launched her annual Gratitude Challenge.
Bridget described the essence of her 2022 Gratitude Challenge on her blog:
Gratitude Challenge for 2022
If you want to end 2022 on a positive note, then perhaps you will consider finding several things you are grateful for each day, from now through December 31. You can either write them down, or simply say a prayer of thanks. Gratitude is an excellent way to abide in the Lord as we look around for the blessings He pours into our lives.
Bridget A. Thomas blog

I agree with Bridget that gratitude is a superb way of abiding in the Lord. When I look for God’s blessing in my life, I shift my eyes from what I might think I am lacking to recognizing how much blessing God has poured out into my life.
In his letter to the Ephesians worshipping at Ephesus, the Apostle Paul points out that God has poured every spiritual blessing out on us.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
Ephesians 1:3 (New Living Translation)
Honestly, I have much to be grateful for in my life. I am blessed with a beautiful wife and I get to serve the Lord everyday working on the front lines where spiritual battles are happening. I see God provide each and every day. I experience God at work every single day without fail. I have a loving, talented mom and great in-laws. I love my family. God blessed us with a clowder of four-legged cats, not to mention mom’s dog, April. When I look around, I can see God’s abundant provision for us. We have a roof over our heads and food on our table. Terri and I both have opportunities to invest in others. Our contributions at work are valued. The list of God’s blessings in my life goes on and on and on.
Yes, I have much to be grateful for in my life.
How about you? What are you grateful for in 2022?
Happy #Blogtober!
Blessings,

Thank you for sharing Bridget’s gratitude challenge, Rainer. I follow her exceptional blog but somehow missed this.
I am also grateful for my sweet, and godly wife. Yesterday was our 20th anniversary.
My three grown sons are also at the top of my grateful list.
Last, like you, I am blessed to serve on the front lines of touching lives as a teacher.
I’m enjoying your Blogtober postings, brother. Way to go! It’s not easy to produce good content every day.
God’s best to you and Sweet T.

Happy anniversary, David! That’s a blessing for sure! Marriage is a wonderful gift from God.
As a teacher, you have the opportunity to impact and influence so many lives. I respect you for investing in our future generations.
Bridget produces quality posts. I think her Gratitude Challenge will be fun and fulfilling.
Thanks for the encouragement. It’s been challenging to create daily content—mainly dedicating time, doing some planning, and staying committed to it. Right now, it seems like a long race. 😂 I pray I have the energy to finish.
Have a blessed day!

You’re gonna make it, Rainer—a post every day in October. But if you do find yourself with no time to post, please let me know. I can write a guest post to keep the streak going. Blessings, brother.

I am so touched to know that the gratitude challenge inspired you. And now you, in turn, inspired me. Your gratitude list was so heartfelt, and helped me to see how we can always find things to be grateful for. God is all around us. We need to just stop and take a look. And as you posted about worship recently, I believe the two go together. Worship increases gratitude and gratitude increases worship. So thank you for these needed reminders to incorporate both in my day. 🙌🙏
