In my day-to-day, I experience the goodness of God slap up against the depravity of man. Because of that, I think goodness—a fruit of the Spirit— deserves a second look.
In a world that celebrates self-interest while overlooking integrity, choosing goodness seems counter-cultural. Yet, as believers, we are called to mirror God’s goodness in our thoughts, words, and deeds.
This doesn’t mean we strive for perfection resting on our own strength; rather, we rely on the Holy Spirit to cultivate this fruit within us.
It’s a journey of transformation, one that changes us from the inside out, enabling us to reflect God’s goodness to those around us.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

Goodness is not simply about moral excellence or virtuous actions. No, goodness is a divine attribute that grows evident in us through the Holy Spirit’s work.
Goodness involves doing the right thing for the right reason, with a heart aligned with God’s will. Goodness is an active expression of love as we make a decision to pursue what is just.
Goodness inclines our heart towards generosity and kindness, even when it’s hard.

Know you are loved.
