Meeting (the) Resistance

When you live a life of impact, you will meet resistance.

It’s a hard lesson to learn, mostly because when it first shows up, it’s unexpected. It catches us off guard, like a bullet piercing the air as we speak, gunning us down as we share the Gospel. Who knew? Who could?

Resistance isn’t a sign we’re on the wrong path.

Sometimes it’s confirmation that what we are doing matters. Light draws opposition. Purpose stirs pressure. Calling invites challenge. These are the realities of life that we face. Remember: our fight is not against flesh and blood.

Meet the resistance.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Friend, when I reflect back on where I found myself a year ago, I wasn’t sure I’d survive. Thankfully, Jesus healed my hurts and restored my faith.

So keep going, my friend. Keep going, my brother. Keep going, my sister. Press on, as our brother, the Apostle Paul, would say.

Let the resistance refine you, not stop you. Stay faithful. Stay grounded. Stay true to the work God has entrusted to you.

Your impact is worth the pushback.

God is good.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.

  5. I like the idea of that, David. More of Him, less of me.

  6. I’m glad the Lord brought you through this past year, my brother. One morning I awoke, after a hard day and restless night, and the thought came to me from the Lord: “Don’t be traumatized, be tenderized.”
