A Prayer
O Gracious and Merciful Heavenly Father,
Strip away the noise that tells me I must have more to be whole;
more recognition,
more certainty,
more control,
more approval.
Teach me again that I am enough because You are enough!
Give me only what I need for this day;
daily bread for my body,
peace for my mind,
strength for the work before me,
and grace for the people I encounter.
Keep me from chasing what distracts me from You. Let not abundance make me forget my dependence, nor scarcity cause me to lose trust.
When I am restless, quiet me.
When I am afraid, steady me.
When comparison steals my peace, remind me that my life is not measured by accumulation, but by faithfulness.
Help me receive ordinary things as sacred gifts, like conversation, a shared meal, a moment of stillness, the kindness of a friend, and the breath in my lungs.
Teach me a contentment that is alive and rooted in the confidence that You know what I truly need better than I do.
And if I must walk through seasons of uncertainty, let me discover there, too, that Your presence is sufficient.
You are all I need. I am enough because You are enough.
Give me only what I need, Lord, along with the courage to trust You with tomorrow.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Until next time…
Be salty, stay lit.
