Don’t Be a Frowny Downy

Good morning, America. How are you today?

This morning I want to encourage you not to be a frowny downy. You know the kind of person I’m talking about. .

They are the one who walks into the room and manages to drop the temperature 10 degrees simply by being present.

Sure, we’ve all had days when we’re tired, frustrated, disappointed, or just plain not feeling it.

However, as followers of Jesus, our joy doesn’t have to be dictated by our circumstances.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭22‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Joy is contagious. Turns out, so is negativity. That doesn’t mean we walk around pretending everything is wonderful. It does mean we remember that our circumstances don’t get the final word. Jesus does.

Today, let’s bring a little joy with us.

Smile. Encourage somebody. Give thanks. Make a joyful noise.

And whatever you do…

Don’t be a Frowny Downy.

Sometimes the best ministry we can offer is simply being a joyful presence.

Be the reason somebody smiles today.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
