When people see you, what do they learn about the God you love?
As believers, we are no longer controlled by our fleshly desires, but rather submit ourselves to the control of the Holy Spirit who embeds us with the blessings that come from a life, mind, body, heart, and soul focused on pleasing God. We no longer live under the mantra of “Me-Me-Me.” Rather, we’re fired up for Him.
Our lives reflect our beliefs. At least they should. Right?
In our sinful nature, we are consumed by various deeds and acts having nothing to do with pleasing the Lord and everything to do with gratifying ourselves. Before Christ, I sought to serve my own best interests, paying little heed to the impact or influence I had on others. Since Jesus, I am more cognizant of the imprint I leave on others and living my life in such a manner that brings God glory.
Father God, I pray that the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control might continue to blossom and bloom in my daily life. I know that in Christ, I can do all things. This means my mind, heart, and soul can be transformed by the power of Jesus living in me through the Holy Spirit, my great counselor and guide. May the Spirit continue the work You have begun in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
