Three: A New Psalm

Interestingly enough, my recent pursuit of learning to draw has stirred an increase in my writing. As a result, I began sharing a few writings that were birthed through my quiet time with the Lord, such as new psalms, like the one I am offering today.

I know that God is constantly at work all around me. I recognize and see that the Lord is on the move in our world and throughout the entire expanse we know as the universe. God is far-reaching, all-knowing, and all-powerful. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the same God watching over us today. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The Lord is worthy of our reverent awe and fearful respect. God is worthy of worship. I pray that these modern psalms reflect that reverence and respect amidst our contemporary woes and challenges. I pray that in someway, somehow, they touch your heart reading and reciting them as much as they have ignited a fire in me through writing them.

May the Lord shine kindness on you. Please know you are loved.

Blessings and favor,

Three: A New Psalm

1 Be still my restless spirit, be still!

Quiet! my rebellious heart, Quiet! my rebellious heart. Be still. Be still.

2 Harken your ears to hear a word from the Lord. Listen for the Lord, who dwells among you as the Holy Spirit. Listen for the Lord!

3 Holy Spirit, groaning and praying on my behalf, teach me how to live righteously and show me how to walk in faithful obedience to the precepts and commands of Almighty God.

4 Do not let me stumble. Do not let me fall. Keep me upright and clean from all unrighteousness.

5 Help me walk the path of righteousness with valor and bold courage, fearing nothing man can do against me. 6 For You, Holy Spirit, guard my heart and my mind. 7 You, Holy Spirit protect my soul from all enemies, seen and unseen.

8 You are the shield of my salvation. You are the seal securing me firmly in the grasp of God’s strong hands.

9 Nothing shall pry me loose from Your hands, O God. Nothing, seen or unseen, shall prevail against me for You, O God, set the path before me and keep me from falling away.

10 May I be steadfast and faithful as You, O God, are steadfast and faithful towards me.

11 Come, Lord Jesus, come.
